HabiTerre and “The Future of Agri-Food is STLMADE” at the World Agri-Tech South America Summit

Nick Reinke, HabiTerre CEO, traveled to São Paulo, Brazil with a group of St. Louis leaders to attend the World Agri-Tech South America. This group, traveling under the banner “The Future of Agri-Food is STLMADE,” aims to enhance agri-food tech ties between St. Louis and Latin America, building strategies and fostering innovation in sustainable agriculture.

At the summit, Nick Reinke highlighted HabiTerre’s cutting-edge solutions for agricultural insights, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, scalability and the willingness to work together.

“No one entity or ecosystem alone can address the grand challenges of sustainability, climate impact, and food security alone," said Reinke. "And it gives me great hope for our future to see the work of other innovators and the way we can complement each other."

This work is particularly crucial in data-scarce regions where standard methods of measuring environmental impact are challenging. Without access to comprehensive data or agricultural insights, it is difficult to assess the effectiveness of sustainable practices, make informed decisions, and demonstrate progress.

HabiTerre’s participation in this summit underscores their commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture through data-driven insights and international collaboration. The summit provided a platform for sharing knowledge and forging partnerships to drive forward climate-smart agriculture in order to enhance the resilience of this critical food production region and positively impact climate change in South America.

“The global reach of the St. Louis agtech and geospatial innovation ecosystem is truly incredible, and we at HabiTerre are honored to be a part of it,” said Reinke.

About HabiTerre
www.habiterre.com

The HabiTerre team is dedicated to making the world a better and more habitable place by advancing sustainable agriculture and land stewardship with a holistic systems approach to farm productivity and resource use efficiency. We do this by helping farmers and the ag value chain maximize profitability and resilience by reducing negative environmental impacts like GHG emissions, nutrient, soil and Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) loss, and water use inefficiencies.

These capabilities and supporting technologies were developed at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign to scalably, accurately, and cost-effectively quantify agricultural productivity and environmental impacts with the utmost scientific rigor. We use our leading-edge technology combining remote sensing, process models, and artificial intelligence to evaluate past, present and future cropland performance, including crop rotation, management history, yield, water use, nutrient dynamics, GHG emissions, and carbon sequestration.
